it also shows he never returned to his base. The final war time entry in
the Log Book reads as follows:-

number relates to a Royal Australia Air Force Spitfire, the record for
LZ875 is more likely to be the registration as it was part of No.249
Squadron and failed to return on 4-7-1944.
